We welcome you to the Department of Civil Engineering. It’s our pleasure to introduce department. The department has well qualified, senior and dedicated faculties. We encourage regular interaction among the students, parents and staff. We have good library facility and infrastructure facilities. The skilled technicians are available for all laboratories.
The objective of the department is to prepare students to become capable to face any type of challenges. Our faculty committed to provide students with strong, broad based fundamental engineering education. Civil Engineering is the oldest branch of engineering which deals with human needs such as water, shelter, earth etc. It has wide range of opportunities in various fields such as production, service, construction industry, software, chemical, teaching, research and transport.
By considering all these aspects our efforts are put in to develop the ability among the students to analyze, synthesize data and technical concepts for application to a structure design, planning, execution and maintenance. We also plan to develop extra- curricular and co-curricular skills of the students by establishing Student Activity Centre. We provide Career Guidance to the students through which students would come to know about various opportunities regarding higher education, research and start up’s, recruitment, competitive examinations, etc. Students undergo for industrial training for six weeks in which they learn many essential aspects required for them in their career.

A warm welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Government Polytechnic, Karad. We have started journey in the year 1957. Now, we have Diploma in Civil Engineering program with intake of 120,60 for First shift and 60 for Minority students. The Department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty who are always believe in overall development of students. We focus on student centric active teaching learning process by providing them domain knowledge, developing their skill sets and aware them about human values. We are also helping them to build up, and achieve their goals to excel in their professional career. We follow outcome based curriculum of MSBTE(Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education). For value addition we provide them training in various fields, arrange industrial visits and also organize various events through students association. In current scenario, Civil Engineering is fastest growing field of engineering. Apart from Construction industries, Civil engineering graduate can work in Public Works Department, Water Resources Department, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, Soil and Water Conservation Department of Government of Maharashtra. Since Civil Engineering is mother branch, demand of Civil Engineers is always at peak. The future success of Indian industry depends on the growth of quality technical education in India, and Indian industry is competiting globally.
